What an eventful love of reading week at Sam Case! Complete with a snow day in the middle we had guests from all over Newport come in to read to our Cubs. Thursday and Friday we were visited by SRO Lekas; Local Radio Host, Leslie Brown; BM1 Todd Ghormley from the US Coast Guard; as well as Linda, Rita, and Vanessa from the Newport Public Library. A wonderful surprise for our 4th graders was when the Newport High Baseball team came to read to them. We also had a door decorating contest with extra library time as the prize. It is always fun to see what our inventive staff and students come up with. Thank you to everyone who encourages a love of reading in our Cubs last week and every day!
